I've got the news Blues, no matter where I look
|
The market is a tricky animal and the little people usually get burned. I heard more than one sad story of money lost in the stock market but when my husband was doing futures I nearly ran out of the house and never came back. How did I deal with it? I was patient, avoided the 'I told you so" and wrote this song. It is no surprise that it is not his favorite but I enjoy singing it now that we are past that dark time. We took our losses and learned our lessons.
I had fun recording my vocals in the studio. I hammed it up a bit and it was one of the songs that just flowed during recording.
Here are the rest of the lyrics:
Ive got the new blues, seems I'm out of luck,
Lost four hundred dollars in just on pop.
I've got the news blues so sad to say
but maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
The markets up today, diddly dit dit dee
but I said it'd go down, uh uh oh no
I can't hide my face, it;s all over town
I've got a frown
I've got the news blues, so sad to say
but maybe tomorrow will be a better day
this worry I feel is haunting my house
I'm no more fun, I'm worse than a louse.
I walk the floor, I cry in my pillow
These market blues will drive me right out the window
I've got the new blues so sad to say
But maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
You'd think I'd learn, but no, no way
I cannot seem to stay away
I've got the blues....
from looking, oh so carefully
At the news.
