I love being in a band it's my therapy! Group singing is proven to lower stress, relieve anxiety, and elevate endorphins. Try group singing during your next virtual happy hour! bit.ly/musicchangesbrain | https://drdixonpsych.com/
When I come home from a day of therapy with couples and individuals seeking help, I need to recharge. Sometimes I head for the fridge or take a walk. Sometimes I de-stress by talking to Dan, my husband.
The best times are sitting at my piano, singing new and old songs, some of my originals and practicing my bass. All of us need ways to de-stress. I think singing even in your off tune voice can be good therapy - cheap too. Singing and making music with others is the BEST in my book.
Now, I have a FaceBook page for my psychotherapy life and a website with a blog where I write regularly. Meet me there more often for tips to de-stress and increase happiness, fight depression and deal with emotions leading to the dreaded debilitating anxiety.
